William B. Sutton
Memorial Award
The Florida Association of
County Social Service Executives has chosen to present a biennial award to
an active member who exemplifies those qualities upon which the organization
was founded. This award is named in honor of William B. Sutton, a
long-standing member who exhibited compassion for others, strong leadership
qualities and a commitment to enhancing the goals of the organization.
The recipient (or up to two recipients) shall be selected by the Executive
Committee or a special committee nominated by the membership during the
Legislative Conference held in even years. The award will be presented
during the Annual Conference held in odd years.

Has been an active member
of FACSSE for five (5) years. |

Has worked to enhance the
mission of the organization by working to increase communication among
counties, advocating for and influencing county, state and national
legislation to protect the interest of county health and human services
programs. |

Has worked to educate and
inform elected officials and the public about human services programs. |
 |
Exhibits strong leadership
qualities. |
 |
Works within his/her
community, with state human service agencies, and private, non-profit
agencies to coordinate the delivery of human services and to develop
comprehensive programs to serve families and individuals in need. |
